Ministry Update

Ministry Update

I know it’s been a while since anyone’s received a blog entry/update from me, I discovered that when the church’s webpages were migrated to our new layout this summer that the list of blog subscribers was accidentally lost, the only person who received my blog was me. After working on this issue for months I manually added a number of people to the blog last week and then found out that our web administrator was able to recover the list of previous subscribers.  Yeah!

Now that things have been reestablished I thought I’d send out an update regarding what’s been happening the past few months.  August and September was a very busy time of preparing for the fall programs, some speaking engagements, and with meeting with people 1-on-1.

One of the programs I do is a 27 week program called Journey (it used to be called Living Waters) and once/year there is a leadership intensive week where potential leaders come and go through an intense mini-program.  This year it was held in August and I was asked to be part of the leadership team. It’s an intense week with leaders putting in 12-15 hour days and while I enjoy being part of the team it’s exhausting.  I participated again this year and it was a great week, very intense, very tiring but I think those who came experienced some significant breakthroughs.

Much of my work in August and September was preparing to launch the groups for the fall; meeting with potential participants and putting together the leadership team for Journey.  The groups are off and running and going well. I’m excited for what God is going to do in the lives of the participants this year.

I had a couple speaking engagements in September.  I was on a panel for an annual Northwest conference of Calvary Chapel pastors.  There were 125-150 pastors at the workshop and it went exceptionally well, in fact I’ve had 3 requests from pastors to come and do my 4.5 hour workshop at their churches which I’m very excited about.

I also spoke at a gathering of 3 churches one evening on transgender issues and was on a panel Q & A afterward.  It was my first time speaking specifically on this topic and it was well received.

It’s been a busy fall and I would appreciate your prayers for the ministry year:

  • For the group participants to meet God in deeply personal ways.
  • The God would protect the Journey leadership team; that they would be encouraged and blessed as they volunteer their time to minister to others.

Thank you everyone for your prayers and support,

Jeff

If you would like to support me and the work I do in ministering to those with unwanted same-sex attractions you can do so here.
